Another postage stamp top completed

Tuesday night I ripped out the incorrect stitching, but I didn't have a chance to work on the top until today. I did put all the blocks, sashing, and cornerstones on the design wall to make sure I stitched it correctly this time. It isn't exactly the same as the Evelyn Sloppy quilt, but that's OK - this is how I envisioned it when I first got the idea from the picture of her quilt. I've never made sashing and cornerstones like this before, and I really like how it looks. I wouldn't be at all surprised if I used this setting again sometime. This top took 24 blocks - exactly how many I had. How's that for luck - since I certainly didn't plan for it to happen! The borders are wider than I would usually make, but I had to make them that wide in order for the quilt to be the required size for Hotel Hope quilts.

Now I'm finishing backings for both this top and the top I finished last Monday, as well as for the one top hanging in my closet that has no backing. So I should have a good stash report on Sunday - hooray!

I love it! I made one with that kind of sashing and cornerstones and I think it's a beautiful setting. Mine had double nine patches for blocks.

I have probably told you on an earlier post, but I think that is a great quilt! I just love the way the sashing fits the blocks and they look so terrifc together.

I love how the sashing makes the quilt so interesting. You eye travels all over and never stops. BTW, I saw in your HSY category that you have the monthly Lori
Smith's. Those are on my list of Things to Do as well. How about we start next year with January in January?

I really love this quilt. So simple and sweet. I love any quilt that uses tons of little squares and lots of different fabrics...I just love squares!

Oh, and I wanted to say a big thank you for your advice! I did put the binding on before trimming my last little give away quilt. It worked beautifully! Never too old to learn!! Thanks so much for teaching me a great new trick!

What a great scrap quilt! And the sashing/corner stones really set off all the scrap squares beautifully. I love that setting...I can see it working for lots of different blocks.

What a beautiful quilt! I love the subtle colors in it. Are the squares very big? Did you stitch to one colorscheme or was this by chance? It is truly lovely.

Very nice! My little sashed squares have wandered off in a slightly different direction :)
