What a waste of time

My week was going on so nicely, and I was so looking forward to this weekend. Then yesterday morning when I got up I felt exhausted, which I blamed to not enough sleep the past three nights. (I was going through a spell where I stayed awake designing quilts in my head - do any of the rest of you do that?) Anyway, I managed to get dressed and grab a bite and headed out at 6:30 a.m. to the chiropractor. Half way there I realized I was more than just tired, so I turned around and came home. In less than 5 minutes after I got home I was struck with the worst case of "Montezuma's Revenge" that I've ever had. I guess I must have picked up the norovirus somewhere. I called the chiropractor to cancel, then work to leave messages, as I had to arrange for cover on two meetings I was to attend. Then I put myself to bed and tried to get warm. I was chilled all the way through. My head ached terribly as did my "nether regions". This went on until about 9:00 last evening when things finally calmed down enough that I could go to sleep. This morning I'm totally washed out but otherwise OK - thank goodness. Yesterday I felt so miserable that I simply laid in bed and didn't care whether I lived or died.

Today I have to find the energy to finish appliquéing the hearts on the Quilt Pink quilt as I need to turn it in on Monday so it can get mailed to American Patchwork and Quilting. I don't think any longarm quilting will be done, however - not unless I feel lots better tomorrow.

Here's hoping this bug doesn't find the rest of you - it's a particularly nasty one!

Gratitudes:

1. Feeling better today
2. Toast with butter
3. Herbal tea - especially peppermint

No thank you Patti! You can keep it right there with you. I hate being sick. You sound almost as bad as you probably felt! Yikes, that wa a quick moving bug!

Glad you are starting to feel human again!

Hope you are back in fine form before you can turn around. In the meantime, just take it easy and get lots of rest and drink lots and lots of fluids. I know you've heard it all before, but it's the best advice when you are feeling on the fritz.

I think I had that bug the other day. It was nasty. But being so dang tired was the worst. I could hardly walk from the bedroom to the living room without feeling like I could sleep for 8 hours. I hope you get better soon.

Well, I guess I now know what I'm suffering from. I guess I'll go back to bed and hope I'm soon to recover. I'm glad you are feeling better so quickly.

Sorry to hear you got so sick. I guess the good thing is that at least you only had it for a short time and not days. Oh I hate the flu or things like you had. Rest up this weekend!

Patti - So sorry to hear that you were sick - there is a nasty virus going around -- quilty hugs for a speedy recovery. I was reading your earlier post and you just had to introduce me to Jelly Rolls from the Fat Quarter Shop, it's bad enough I'm now addicted to Charm Packs -- now I'm craving Jelly Rolls, too. I hope you're feeling back-to-normal really soon.

(((HUGS))) to you - but from a nice long cyber-distance so I don't catch that nasty bug! I've had my own milder version going on thankyouverymuch and don't need you're brand added on. LOL!

Sure hope you're much better today.

Hi Patti, sorry to hear you got done in by that nasty virus. Luckily does seem to run the course in about 24 hours.

Sometimes the rest isn't a bad thing. I'm looking forward to all the great quilts you'll be making this year. Hugs, Fin
