Retreat Projects

Note the portable design wall in the first picture. We all fell in love with it. It's supported by lightweight folding metal poles - the same kinds of folding poles that now come with tents. They slip into pockets on each edge of the flannel design wall, then clips hold the corners together. Super easy to put up and take down. By the time all of us had used it during the retreat we all knew we wanted one also. This is the 6'x6' model - it comes in small sizes also. Pam found it online at the designer's website - but Ardis found it on sale here on Eleanor Burns website. I told Fred about it and he's ordered me one for my Christmas present! I can set it up temporarily in the computer room as needed - no more reaching over the ironing board when I need a large design space!

That looks just like my portable design wall but I think its made by a different company. Mine stays propped up against a wall in the longarm room but I love it and it's nice to know I can take it somewhere if I choose.

I like the strings and I think it will look great without the sashing. I still have enough of the coins from the HeartStrings project for at least 3 more quilts. I like the one I just finished so much I think I'm going to repeat that one.

I've seen them at shows and loved them - but couldn't seem to get the cash out of my pocket to purchase it! What a great present you're going to get for xmas! Love all the show and tell pics!

Hi Patti, just popping in to say "hi" and thank you for the lovely comment about hand quilting *VBS* We are very much soul sisters in that regard...and scraps... that's what really counts!!!
Love all the retreat pics...I see a couple of familiar quilts there(Cher's, etc). Glad you had a good time and got so much done. Take care of that shoulder! Hugs, Finn

Can you post the name or brand of the design wall so I can do a search for it. Your link to the Eleanor Burns site is giving me an error. Beautiful pics from the retreat!

Thanks for sharing your pictures from the retreat - so many pretty quilts! The portable design wall looks great. I could certainly use one rather than trying to use the floor. People just don't get that not everything on the floor is allowed to be stepped on!

I love your sidebar of quilts listed...Not sure my mother could stand the shock of seeing all my unfinished projects though. I'm not sure I sould stand to see the list of my unfinished projects. Maybe, having finished up there would balance the unfinished. Somwthing to consider adding to my blog.
