Note the portable design wall in the first picture. We all fell in love with it. It's supported by lightweight folding metal poles - the same kinds of folding poles that now come with tents. They slip into pockets on each edge of the flannel design wall, then clips hold the corners together. Super easy to put up and take down. By the time all of us had used it during the retreat we all knew we wanted one also. This is the 6'x6' model - it comes in small sizes also. Pam found it online at the designer's website - but Ardis found it on sale here on Eleanor Burns website. I told Fred about it and he's ordered me one for my Christmas present! I can set it up temporarily in the computer room as needed - no more reaching over the ironing board when I need a large design space!

That looks just like my portable design wall but I think its made by a different company. Mine stays propped up against a wall in the longarm room but I love it and it's nice to know I can take it somewhere if I choose.
I like the strings and I think it will look great without the sashing. I still have enough of the coins from the HeartStrings project for at least 3 more quilts. I like the one I just finished so much I think I'm going to repeat that one.
I love the first picture!! What patten is that...I have just the fabric pack for it. I saw that design wall at a retreat this weekend...I should have gotten it!!!
I love how your little dog seems to be looking at your quilt...so cute.
Hugs,
Traci
The portable design wall looks great! Thanks for posting the photos of the works in progress. I have the postage stamp baskets on my list of quilts I want to make.
I've seen them at shows and loved them - but couldn't seem to get the cash out of my pocket to purchase it! What a great present you're going to get for xmas! Love all the show and tell pics!
Ohhhh! I adore the first quilt. The pinkish one on the design wall. Do you know the pattern?
Looks like you all had a productive time. Great pics, thanks for sharing.
Hi Patti, just popping in to say "hi" and thank you for the lovely comment about hand quilting *VBS* We are very much soul sisters in that regard...and scraps... that's what really counts!!!
Love all the retreat pics...I see a couple of familiar quilts there(Cher's, etc). Glad you had a good time and got so much done. Take care of that shoulder! Hugs, Finn
That was a wonderful retreat by the looks of all of the quilts! Thanks for sharing.
Portable design wall sounds great, enjoyed all of these quilts, makes me want to go on retreat!Tracey
wow great pictures! You had a gooooooood time! Excellent!
Sounds like you had such a great time Patti! Sorry your shoulder's still playing up. Glad you got some extra sleep...you must've needed it!
great job with all the retreat photos Patti! It sure was a lovely get away and I am sorry to hear the shoulder continues to give you such grief-hope it heals past the hurting stage soon!

Enjoyed seeing all your retreat photos...a lot got done! Great quilts!
Thank you for sharing all those wonderful pictures. My fingers and my sewing machine are itching just from looking! Look well after your shoulder and take care.
Hi, Patti ! THANKS for showing such beautiful, inspirational pictures ! You're right : this portable design wall looks sooo handy (and your DH is a sweetie to order it for your Xmas present, lucky you !).
Big ((HUGS)) and smiles to you !

Can you post the name or brand of the design wall so I can do a search for it. Your link to the Eleanor Burns site is giving me an error. Beautiful pics from the retreat!
Thanks for sharing your pictures from the retreat - so many pretty quilts! The portable design wall looks great. I could certainly use one rather than trying to use the floor. People just don't get that not everything on the floor is allowed to be stepped on!
I love your sidebar of quilts listed...Not sure my mother could stand the shock of seeing all my unfinished projects though. I'm not sure I sould stand to see the list of my unfinished projects. Maybe, having finished up there would balance the unfinished. Somwthing to consider adding to my blog.
Hi, Patti, the retreat photos are great. Hope your shoulder starts behaving. Wish I could sleep 12 hours about now LOL.
