This isn't a great picture of me - my lack of sleep really shows - but it's a great picture of Sophie and that's all that matters. She is such a little sweetheart and a perfect Valentine's Day gift for everyone. It was so hard to leave the hospital last night - I could have held her forever. I can't wait to get back there this evening.
Thank you everyone for all your good wishes and congratulatory comments. They are all very much appreciated.
(Note the hourglass quilt blocks in the floor!)

What a sweet baby ! Welcome to Sophie ! The Sophies are delicious little girls: I know that because I have à little Sophie at home...
Beautiful Sophie is bound to be a quilter, her quilting grandmother had her first quilt finished before she (Sophie)was finished and then when she did finally make her appearance, it was into a hospital with quilted floors! It is predestined- she has no choice!! Hug and kiss her extra for us.
It is a wonderful picture...one that you will treasure forever. She will never look just like that again...it is amazing...they change every day. She is just beautiful!
What a wonderful picture! I saw quilt sqs all over the place when we lived in Spain. And I didnt' know I was a quilter yet! My family thought I was cracked. Nice to know I'm not alone out there in "finding quilt designs EVERYWHERE' land.
Oh, my lord, Patti, she's BEAUTIFUL. She looks like a doll--literally. You look pretty pleased, as well you should be!
I'm glad to know her middle name. I swear I left a comment yesterday, congratulating you and asking if her middle name was going to be Valentina. (Guess I only "previewed" and forgot to "publish." Darn. But I did send my best--it just didn't get there.)
So glad to hear Miss Sophie arrived. Welcome to the world, little one! What a great picture of the two of you. Congratulations to you and your family. From Coll from Canada
What a gorgeous baby, but 9 1bs 8oz?! Ouch, no wonder she was taking her time. I had three little boys, but I can just imagine the fun to come, all those pretty pink and purple quilts you can make. And from what other grans tell me, the novelty doesn't wear off- enjoy her!
What a beauty ! She makes me "melt" on my seat ! I can understand how you feel .... And, by the way, this picture is PERFECT, you show such happiness and contentment, the perfect Granny !
Congrats on the little angel...we got our little man the same day and just love him so much....Sophie is such a cute name and she sure is pretty girl...Have fun Grandma...Toni
