You call this snow . . .

Once again everyone around us got snow - enough that it really counted. North of us Kelso- Longview schools are closed. Pictures south of Portland show roads in a mess and snow falling. East and west of us too. Those of you who watched the Seahawks-Green Bay game know how hard it was snowing in Seattle.

Here is what we have. I took the pictures now because I leave before it gets light, and if I wait until this afternoon it will be all gone. The cars are across the street at our neighbors, and the third picture is of our lawn. And since this fell while we were sleeping we didn't even get to see it falling. It was just enough to make most of the schools two hours late - including my husband's - but only because the back country roads are probably worse. This is good for those who must commute, but what a disappointment for those of us who always wish for snow - including yours truly.

Since I don't have snow to show I'll post pictures of my treeskirt. We've not yet started decorating - this weekend we will get to it. I made this as a class sample when I taught at Daisy Kingdom, and I've always loved how it turned out.

************
Gratitudes:

1. Safe commutes for my family.
2. Hot real oatmeal with brown sugar for breakfast
3. An easy day at work today
4. Cozy warm sweaters
5. Hot tea with milk

Oh that is a beautiful tree skirt. Course feathered stars are my favorite! And I love the holly that you quilted on it!

we got about 3 inches but it will probably stick around because it isn't supposed to get warm enough to melt - so it is a snow day for me!
love your tree skirt - we are going to decorate our tree today

beautiful tree skirt! Today is a snow day for us. This makes day number 6 of my son home from school (including weekend). Yesterday the schools were open, but I kept my son home since we went to (or I should say tried to go to) the Bellingham Mall on Sunday. We did not realize the snow hit so hard so early and decided to turn around two exits before the mall to come back home. We were on the road 7 hours on Sunday with the yucky weather and bad roads. I wanted my kids to be able to play in the snow since they did not get a chance to on Sunday. My husband had a snow day yesterday, but had to go in today.

Beautiful tree skirt! AH snow! No snow here but our weather is definitely cooler - I love it. :-)

The skirt is beautiful and you reminded me that I have to clean last years cat hair from mine before I can use it this year. Our kittys love to sleep under the tree!

Now..the snow. I would die for even that right now. We are going back to 70's right now for a few days and it's almost DECEMBER for crying sakes. Hopefully it will get cold enough this year to wear a big coat! Didn't last year!

Very pretty tree skirt. I have always thought I should make a tree skirt but never got around to it.

I am just packing up a bunch of snow - because I've had enough of it - and I am sending it down to you!! Enjoy!

The tree skirt is wonderful! I need to make one.....put that on my list of 'one day' projects. That is just about enough snow to enjoy-although I do love looking out the window at bunches of it as long as I have heat, hot chocolate and no place to go.

I would call that snow -- around here everything would shut down and traffic would be jammed for hours *s* Your skirt is beautiful.

Oh Patti, your tree skirt is just beautiful!! I love it! I need to make me one someday. And I'm with you on the snow...I do hope we get a good one this year here in northeast Tennessee. It's been several years now since we've had more than just a dusting. I keep hoping! :D

I love your tree skirt and yes that would be snow for this Florida girl. Oh my, the roads would all close and schools would be out...it would be the biggest mess ever.

I will send you some of the snow we got! We definitely got more than our share. The RCMP are advising not to travel the Trans Canada Highway between Abbotsford and Chilliwack. I am so grateful I am only minutes from work. Monday we had only a few people make it in. Today there were more in. We are bracing for storm #2 - due tomorrow!

I was going to say that Norma probably would send you some if you were really wanting it. It sounds like you are in for some more too.

What a gorgeous tree skirt, Patti. Bet you look forward every year to getting it back out! I think Kansas City will get some of your snow tonight.

That is more snow than we have where I live. And we use to have a lot of snow this time of the year. But weather is acting so weird these days.
Your tree skirt is lovely. And it reminds me that I should have mad a new one for my tree. The one I got is so old and ugly now. But where do I find time to make it???

I love your tree skirt Patti! It's almost a shame to cover it up with gifts!

Sorry you got so little snow there and I'm still boggled how much Astoria got (school is closed AGAIN here) vs everyone else up here. I think it was my letter to Santa that did the trick!

You may not call it snow but around here it's enough I wouldnt be out on the streets. Cause these fools around here don't know how to drive in icy conditions. ME included but at least I'm smart enough to know I need to keep my butt at home!

simply gorgeous Patti! yes, the snow barely lasted didn't it? Oh well, there are still a few more months possible to enjoy some snow!
