In spite of the heat I am getting a very small amount of sewing done. At first glance this quilt top doesn't look any farther along than it did the last time I showed it. Note, however, that I've finished the inner border of half-square triangle squares. I thought this would take a long time to finish, but it really didn't. I sewed the triangles yesterday as well as pressing and trimming some of them. Today I pressed and trimmed the rest, constructed the borders and attached them to the quilt. It was a slow process because using a hot iron in the heat we've been having is awful - hence the reason nothing else got done.

Patti, that is absolutely spectacular! What an accomplishment. This is definitely a quilt of a lifetime. Rest well......in spite of the heat. It's starting too cool a bit. Yay!
That quilt is gorgeous! Ditto the Oregon coast. What a lovely trip. Thanks so much for sharing your photos. I must plan a Hwy 101 trip north for Honey & me soon. Lighthouses are always a favorite tourist spot for us.
You did good! The border looks great and the quilt amazes me more each time I see it. I also enjoyed the pictures of your beach trip - thanks for sharing!
Just: wauw! That says it all!! BTW: just cut and sewed my first red/white block! Haven't got nearly enough whites yet, but I've decided to cut as much as I can, collect more whites, cut hem up etc. When I have a box full of ready-to-sew pieces I'll start to sew. Ofcourse this is going to be the next handsewn quilt. I'll post about it later this week and thanks again for the inspiration (ordered the book as well:)
Awesome quilt! I guess you've heard that before though--ROFLOL! Sorry you're suffering from the heat! Your beach posts brought back memories of our past Oregon vacations. Hubby and I were just talking last night about making another trip north in late September perhaps. We enjoyed staying in Florence before and might just do that again.
Ah Patti, it's beautiful. I hear you about the heat. Even with a/c and a fan directed at me it's hot handquilting with a quilt on my lap. Why did I wait till summer - doh!
Patti, I'm way behind on my blog reading again thanks to lots of travel but I'm slowly working my way through the backlog. This is looking great - how nice that the half square triangles didn't take as long as you expected.
That is such a beautiful quilt top! I really enjoyed seeing the pics of the Oregon coast, we were there many years ago but didn't have much time to really enjoy it, hopefully we'll get back someday.

We are warm but not nearly as warm as you are, we're going to be heating up a bit but that is because we are headed inland.
