Tuesday morning

I'm glad Blogger let me add the rest of the pictures to the post I wrote last night. It's pretty useless to read descriptions of things without the pictures to go along with them.

I'm happy to say that the UFO that I posted yesterday has a new home. I'm so glad it's going to someone who wants to finish it. I'll get it to the post office sometime today.

We got up this morning to 54 degrees inside the house. It really cooled off last night, in spite of the fact that the predicted thunderstorm never materialized. I quickly shut all the windows - we were pretty cold as I've left the quilt off the bed because of the heat. It was so good to feel that cool air streaming inside! Maybe I can get some quilting done in the next two days if the cooler weather stays around.

Gratitudes:

1. New home for a UFO.
2. Cooler weather
3. Hot tea with milk
4. Quilt group at Peggy's tonight - it's been a long time since I've seen her
5. A Mariner victory at last!

The blocks are beautiful...many pieces...thanks for sharing the back wirh your pressing technique. A wonderful cool morning...that is the best thing I can think of right now. It was about 82 with 90% humidity this morning at 6:30 when I walked the dogs. Enjoy every minute of it!

Oh, please send some of the cooler weather this way (Illinois) - it sounds delicious!
Your Heirloom blocks look great. The one with 96 pieces is well worth the effort!

I love the Heirloom Stitches blocks - what a beautiful quilt that will be. And, I'm glad that feel good about sending your UFO to a new home. I'm sure that gave you some piece of mind :-)

How cool is that about your UFO...It sounds silly, but it's kind of like giving the quilt life or something... plus your giving it to someone who otherwise may never have something so special...

Crisp morning air sounds delicious. Your Broken Dishes Quilt is really something - wow. I may consider casting off a UFO or two. Somethings may just be UFO's for a reason and better to have it off my plate.

54 degrees!!!!! OMGosh, that would be like a dream come true. I think this 100 degree heat will never end here in Atlanta.

Great progress on the blocks...I do like that Union Star, and have noticed it's one in 6.5" in the Civil War book.

I'd like to add my "high fives" for such a good, sensible, courageous decision on a UFO. It's amazing how guilty we can make ourselves feel about them. I've tried to "get very real" with myself about lingering projects. When totally honest, I have to admit, like you..that it may be years, and years and years old. Whatever I didn't like about it when I quit is what I still don't like about it.
I'm sure somewill just be loving it to bits!! Good for you Patti, good for you! Hugs, Finn

I would give about anything for some cool air like that---at least October before it happens though.
Nothing like snuggling under a quilt when it is a little cool in the house.
