Sophie's quilt is done! It's a good thing too, because Jeremy and Chelsea are coming up for dinner tonight so they can pick it up. I'm very happy with how it turned out, but I'm glad it's done also. It'll be nice to get back to working in my kind of colors. I even busted most of what I bought when I made the back. For the label I just wrote on the back on the green fabric with a Pigma pen. Nice and quick but it works!

Gratitudes:
1. Beautiful clear blue skies
2. A bright crescent moon rocking in the sky
3. Hot tea with milk
4. A UFO crossed off my list
5. Dinner out with all four of our kids

The quilt & the quilting are beautiful. Won't it be great to see Sophie with it!
ReplyDeleteI hate making labels & spent too much time making 4 yesterday. I think I'll use your method for the remaining two I need to make. Your blended label is more attractive than many standard "signs" affixed to quilt backs.
And what a beauty it is..... I am Snoopy Dancing here in your honor.
ReplyDeletePatti - it is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteSuch a treasure. Love it.
ReplyDeletePatti it is spectacular! I can't wait for you to have your Sophie. I here in Chicago with Hampton and am loving every second. It's 11:20 CST and I'm still in PJ's...been up since 5 and I've held him for hours. Can you guess how spoiled he'll be by the time I leave on Sunday. You just can't even imagine how wonderful this is. Nothing anyone ever described is as wonderful as it actually is.
ReplyDeleteFantastic quilt!! It seems to twinkle & sparkle. Using the Pigma pen on the back is a great, simple solution.
ReplyDeleteI like using quilt labels, but I really like the idea of writing on the hanging sleeve, if one is used. Beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeletebest labeling I've ever learned to do is a pigma pen -- it actually get done then! :-)
ReplyDeleteKudos on Sophie's Stars! Now I'll wait patiently for a picture of Sophie with the Sophie's Stars.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours and pattern of this quilt - I'm sure they will be thrilled. The quilting pattern complements it beautifully :-)
ReplyDeletePatti, your quilt is fabulous--a tour de force of triangles! Sophie will be so proud of it some day.
ReplyDeletePS: Carol's right. I was a very lukewarm grandmother-to-be and I'm a total fool now. It's more amazing than you can ever dream. How much longer will it be?
Now that's a real heirloom - what a beauty and I take my hat off to you for keeping track of where all those pieces went - wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks lovely. It's going to be treasured for many years!

ReplyDeleteUtterly fabulous Patti! It turned out so pretty and I agree that you are a real trooper for keeping all those tiny little pieces in order and going in the right direction!
ReplyDeleteThe kids will love it and so will Sophie when she gets big enough to appreciate the work that went into the quilt!
The quilt and quilting are just STUNNING! So much movement! I just LOVE it!! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It looks spectacular. What a thrill to get it finished. I love the stack of fabric in your previous post, and your big ironing board. I'm not sure your mantra is going to work for me. I don't wash my fabric, but I am having problems with the finding a place to put it!!
ReplyDeletePatti - Congratulations on finishing the quilt before Sophie's arrival. It looks so pretty, but just wait until you see that quilt wrapped around your grandchild.
