Wonderful news!

I just got off the phone with our daughter, who called from work to tell us that they should have Joseph's Guatemalan birth certificate in the next 3-4 days! This means they are getting close to the end of this incredibly long adoption process. Next comes the second DNA test, which takes about three weeks. If all goes well they should be on a plane to Guatemala to pick him up in 4-6 weeks!
I guess I'd better get that baby quilt finished!

  7. What a handsome little fellow! Won't it be wonderful when all the paperwork and such is behind Mommy and Daddy and this is official?

Maybe his quilt should be the next one that Gandalf takes care of?

  11. Just wonderful news indeed! ALso congrats again on the retirement and glad you had such a lovely party. I imagine it will feel strange for a while yet. I didn't retire in the same sense you did, but it was odd at first knowing I didn't have to go anywhere. Now it's second nature!
