Today is a big day for me - I passed another decade in my life and turned the happy young age of 60. I don't feel 60, and I don't think I look 60. The kids were all here Saturday for our family celebration as it's too hard for Jeremy, Chelsea and Sophie to come up on a weekday. We had a great time other than the fact that Fred's been down with a bad cold so he didn't join in most of our fun. Today Rick and Rebecca will join the two of us for dinner out - wherever I want to go. It's always so hard to decide - I still don't know where we will be going.
I took a vacation day today. I've always wanted to do that on my birthday but something always seems to come up at work that prevents it. Not this year - I refused to allow that to happen. So I spent the day finishing the quilting on Bunny Garden, then bound and labeled it. It felt so good to cross another flimsy off the list on my sidebar and add another completion to my goals! If you'd like to read the story about this round robin you can find it here.

Gratitudes:
1. Chocolate fudge birthday cake
2. Black and white mocha and chocolate chip banana mini loaf - breakfast at Starbucks
3. Fred is starting to get his voice and energy back
4. Blogging in bed!
5. A day just for sewing

Let me the first (on your blog) to wish you a happy birthday! Hope you had a wonderful day off - what a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI had a post-it on my monitor to remind me to wish you a happy birthday today! Guess what - it fell off and it's now buried under Heaven only knows what! I'm sorry I didn't come to leave wishes earlier today. I hope that you had a wonderful day - Happy Birthday, my friend, Patti. ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Patti! With your energy level, you sure don't act like you are 60! Believe me, you don't look 60 either! Best Wishes!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Your quilt is cute..I love the bunny...Hope you had a great day off...Toni
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Patti! My birthday was Friday, and I refused to work too, sure was grrreat! Love your bunnies - and enjoy beginning a new and exciting decade.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteMine is coming up in a few weeks too - I didn't mind the last one (45) but I'm not sure I'm ready to move closer to 50.
Not sure what I'll be doing for my birthday but we may try for a quick trip to see Duluth.
You're right; you don't look it. Happy Birthday--and take notes. I round off another decade myself this year, so drop breadcrumbs for me.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! Sounds like you had great day doing what you love. =) My big 50 is coming up in a couple months. Guess it's not to early to start thinking of something fun to do.
ReplyDeleteYou are going to love the flexibility a lap top gives you. I'm spoiled now but once in a while I get a reality check, like when I have to use my daughter's PC to access a program that won't run on my iBook. It's so great to be able to take it where ever you want.
Your bunny quilt turned out so colorful and fun! Yay.
Belated Birthday wishes!
ReplyDeleteA very, very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, Patti !
